Description

On this week's episode Phillip is joined by The Vern from the Cinema Recall Podcast, and they discuss Jack Hill's 1975 gang picture, The Jezebels AKA Switchblade Sisters. They start the show by reading some late comments from last week's episode Dawn of the Dead. Phillip then asks Vern how he rates the Romero trilogy and then don't quite see eye to eye. In the Tarantino Talks segment Phillip plays the introduction to the movie by Quentin Tarantino on the Rolling Thunders Pictures release. Then it's time to read the general information about the movie with some facts sprinkled in. It's then time for Listener Opinions from Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Phillip and the Vern then discuss the fun time that is Switchblade Sisters. The two of them discuss Jack Hill movies, and female empowerment. It's a fun and interesting discussion. Then it's time to talk about whether they noticed anything that Tarantino might have liked or used in a film. They individually rate the movie with their Letterboxd rating. Then they answer the question whether they would buy, rent, or find the movie for free. Phillip does not have a Phil's Film Favorite of the Week this week. They discuss movies and podcasts, and all kinds of things. Phillip then promotes next week's show, when he is joined by Jennifer Upton, the author of Japanese Cult Cinema to discuss Lady Snowblood (1973) (available on MAX). Thanks for listening.
