Description

"My body is not fully developed yet. You don't want to do too much. You want to take baby steps to the ultimate goal...I want to still be jumping 18m or 17-high when I'm 30 years old. It's all about the process."
Katelyn Hutchison chats with World U20 triple jump record holder and 2023 Bowerman Award winner Jaydon Hibbert, who just recently announced his decision to turn professional after just one year at the University of Arkansas.
Last year, he broke the NCAA indoor and outdoor triple jump record. His outdoor mark of 17.87m was also the world's best jump of 2023. Unfortunately, he was unable to win gold at the World Championships in Budapest after suffering a hamstring injury during his first jump of the final.
He signed an NIL deal with PUMA but then decided to remain with the brand as he enters his professional career in the Olympic year. He will remain under the guidance of coach Travis Geopfert.
