Description

Despite the care your child is getting, there is still a chance that his behaviors are going to get stuck, making it more challenging to resolve your child’s behavioral issues. If the behavioral issues are rooted in deeper emotional, psychological, or neurological factors, addressing them may take more time.Nevertheless, it's important for parents to remain optimistic, seek professional guidance when necessary, and continue to adapt their strategies to meet the needs of their child. In today’s episode, we’ll be talking about the importance of choosing expert care rather than the general care your child is probably getting. Why choose expert care? Like what I always say, it’s important to seek proper help from a qualified provider immediately because every day that you delay getting help is another day your child and your family are suffering. It still amazes me how, for so long now, people from all over the world have driven or flown thousands of miles to consult and work with me for my expert care. I dedicate myself to my work with the primary goal of educating more people and ensuring they receive the appropriate support they require. It's all about the right solutions at the right time in the right order. Seeking expert care ensures that you receive the appropriate treatment and support. Experts base their interventions on evidence-based practices, which are scientifically proven to be effective. This increases the likelihood of successful treatment outcomes. How do you know if you are an expert? We have to steer away from the idea that just because somebody has 10 or 20 years of experience, that makes them an expert. The truth is that expert care requires that you are a specialist which means that you have taken sufficient time to dive into a specific area of study. I have personally trained therapists and all these years, we have required them to declare their areas of specialties within 18 months. However, around 70% of them didn’t make it because they didn’t want to declare their specialty and they weren’t aware whether or not they’re considered an expert. You have to go deep into that area of specialty and do sufficient training as compared to surface level training. An expert should be able to help you understand your child’s issues and provide you with appropriate treatments in accordance with your child’s condition. If your child is dealing with ADHD, autism, depression or other mental health conditions, an expert should be able to talk about how these conditions affect your child’s brain and behaviors and the solutions to these. How to choose the right therapist? In order to find the right expert for you, it’s necessary to set down your goals. Look for professionals who specialize in the area that aligns with your needs. If you have a specific concern, such as PTSD or family therapy, seek out experts who have experience and training in that area.Make sure that that person advertises himself/herself as a specialist in a specific area because you’re getting a specialist’s care. I work with younger kids who are on the spectrum and I’ve been told that they’ve been having a hard time finding a good therapist. And so, we want to make sure that you're finding somebody that does have experience in their respective areas of specialty. You can always search for experts on Google if you’re in an area where expert care is hard to find. Also, you can try going to state associations or organizations. In fact, the International OCD foundation lets you search specific types of therapies related to OCD and clinical issues. Always choose expert care whether home and community based or even from certified training team healthcare professionals. Whether it's providing support to individuals navigating the complexities of their emotional well-being or assisting families in managing...
