As previously emphasized, your greatest resources will be mentors who have walked the same path you have walked. For understanding class structure, this will be the upper class. Connect with a mentor. Ask them for class specific tips and tricks. This will help you understand what professors are looking for and how to succeed. 
The best mentors are real life mentors. Find many and keep in touch with them. They will be your greatest resource throughout your journey in medicine.
