Description

Hospice agencies are having to get creative with their care during the pandemic.  Rev. Nancy Faery of Niagara Hospice describes the process she and her team used to create a virtual remembrance service to honor the patients the agency has served.  Nancy also shares the challenges and pitfalls of providing psychosocial and spiritual care remotely.  That means using technology for telemedicine, including using phone chats and Facetime.  Nancy encourages teams to ask for what they need and to be open-minded to change that equips us to provide quality care. You can watch Niagara Hospice’s “Forget Me Not” remembrance service on their website at https://www.niagarahospice.org/blog/100051/Niagara_Hospice_Virtual_Remembrance_Ceremony.  The Niagara Hospice team has been providing care to the communities of western New York since 1988. The Heart of Hospice is honored to partnered with Niagara Hospice to bring you this episode.  You’ll find more information about hospice care, grief and bereavement care, and advance care planning at theheartofhospice.com.  Needing a speaker for your conference or organization?
