Bullets Over Broadway (1994) is set in New York City in 1928. David Shayne (John Cusack) is a young playwright who is struggling to get his play produced. He eventually meets Nick Valenti (Chazz Palminteri), a gangster who agrees to finance his play. However, Nick has one condition: his untalented girlfriend, Olive Neal (Jennifer Tilly), must be cast in a lead role. The story highlights the challenges of artistic integrity and the dangers of ambition.
