Description
We kick off You've Never Seen September with a look at a film that harkens back to the golden age of cinema and the gimmicks that came along with it: Joe Dante's Matinee. The film focuses on Lawrence Woolsey, a William Castle-type, who brings his gimmicky newest film to a 1962 Key West that is on edge during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Supported by a knockout performance by the immensely talented John Goodman, its a fun throwback to a time when cinema was king and every filmmaker was looking for a way to differentiate their film. You've Never Seen's Michael Wallace joins Chris to talk about the film, Joe Dante's filmography, and the changing way we go to the movies. You can follow Chris Stachiw at @KultureStach and the Kulturecast @kulturecast.
