Description

We continue to move forward with our Retrospective as we look at another movie that was not directly written or Directed by Allen but he is certainly FRONT and CENTER in this comedy drama :P

The Front is a 1976 American comedy-drama film about Howard Bannister, a television writer who is blacklisted during the McCarthy era. He agrees to sell his scripts to other writers under the table in order to make a living, but he soon finds himself caught up in a web of lies and deceit.

The film stars Woody Allen, Zero Mostel, Herschel Bernardi, Martin Landau, and Lloyd Nolan. It was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $10 million at the box office at the time and being nominated for three Academy Awards.
