His vehicle's hazard lights were still blinking with his daughter sitting in her car seat unharmed.  But many more families were inexorably damaged   because of what transpired that fateful day.   It’s not unlike the Dan Markel murder who was murdered in a plot arranged by now convicted killer Charlie Adelson - Dan’s ex brother in law.   Tonight psychologists discuss the similarities between both cases.   #BestGuests:  Dr. Garrison earned a Psy.D. in clinical psychology from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology (GSPP). He has been cited for his expertise in psychology in numerous media outlets including Business Insider, Forbes, Vice, Huffington Post, Yahoo News, Real Simple, Fatherly, and others.  Dr. Garrison has extensively studied the language and culture of South Korea for over a decade.  He also hosts his own YouTube channel Dr. G Explains.   Ildiko Tabori was featured in the A&E documentary about another dysfunctional family … the Menendez Brothers.   She received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Los Angeles in 2003 and has been a practicing licensed psychologist and neuropsychologist since 2004.    Dr. Roger Rhoades is a Senior Therapist at the P.A.C.E. Center in Greenville, South Carolina specializing in dysfunctional relationships.   He’s worked with inmates inside prisons.

Everyone's just trying to survive in a rough world. No one knows this better than the outspoken, unfiltered 83-year-old host Karmela Waldman, a Holocaust survivor. Her co-host son, Joel, is just trying to survive life as a father of three, husband, parental caretaker, and TV news correspondent. Each week, join this dysfunctionally dynamic mother-son duo as the two take a light look at all sorts of stories of survival, from surviving a son's murder to life as a CIA agent to the fame and fast fortune that come with being a hip-hop legend. Did we mention Karm is also a licensed therapist? So, no topic is off limits for these two pillars of podcasting who also break down the biggest news stories. One question always remains: Will Joel survive the survivor? Tune in to find out!
