Description

On this episode of Living Beyond 120, Mark and Dr. Gladden share the importance of not only staying mentally fit during the COVID-19 pandemic, but also staying physically fit. They talk about the importance of critical thinking during these trying times.  People are dealing with emotional stressors such as the fear of contracting the virus; not only themselves, but also people they love.  Other stressors they cover include the fact that people are stuck at home and the feelings of helplessness and loneliness.  They discuss what vitamins and minerals aid in the reduction of stress. Next, they address the importance of staying physically fit during these challenging times; not only to keep the body’s immune system at peak, but also to avoid becoming out of shape and overweight as both increase one’s susceptibility to the COVID-19 virus.  Mark and Dr. Gladden stress the importance of taking walks, going hiking, riding your bike, etcetera, to keep in physical shape, and talk about the recommended time to spend exercising. Remember, the stronger that the body is today, the better the body is at defending itself tomorrow against the virus.  We want everyone to be in better shape after this pandemic has passed.
