Description
When writing or speaking, you need to be aware of which words you use and why. It’s not enough to know what a word’s definition means. You need to know how it lands with the people you’re talking to. Different people have different ways of thinking about words. What may be a positive word for one may be a negative one for another. For example, while on a run downtown Toronto, I saw a sign that read Portland St. This sign made me think of Portland, Oregon, a city that’s been ravaged by the excess of ideology. For someone else, Portland might mean a city where people are principled and taking action toward social justice. Whatever you choose to say, you need to be deliberate about it.Join The Word Leader Facebook Community to learn more about writing, connect with like-minded fellows, and get support in your writing journey.
