Description

Malo  and welcome to Episode 89 of Breakfast Bites by TeivovoSports.com – a  wrap of Pasifika peoples sports on this beautiful bright and sunny  Tuesday morning 27 September 2022 - coming to you from paradise on the  180th meridian in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. All eyes are turning to the Women’s Rugby World Cup starting in New Zealand on Saturday 08 October. Hosted by a Southern Hemisphere nation for the very first time, the  first day of the Women’s Rugby World Cup features three fantastic  clashes which will be highly entertaining for the fans: South Africa v  France, Fiji v England, and New Zealand v Australia. In rugby league – the  NRL expects a 83,000-capacity crowd sell-out at Accor Stadium for their  Grand-final between two western Sydney heartland Clubs – the Parramatta  Eels against the Penrith Panthers. NRL CEO Andrew Abdo confirmed  yesterday that the demand for tickets has been phenomenal. No  one gave the Eels Women a chance but they will join their Men at this  week’s NRL Grand Final, after qualifying for the 2022 NRLW decider vs  the Knights, with a stunning 24-10 Semi Final win over the unbeaten  minor premiers and reigning champions, the Sydney Roosters. In  boxing – Tyson Fury will fight former WBA heavyweight champ Mahmoud  Charr on 03 December in Cardiff since Anthony Joshua failed to sign  their fight contract by the 5am deadline this morning Fiji time for what  would have been the biggest fight in British boxing history. In  football – The tiny nation of Qatar, about half the size of Fiji in  landmass, but with a population of 3 million people expects an invasion  of 1.2M fans at the FIFA World Cup to boost their economy by US$17Billion.
