Getting an accurate forecast on the economy can be a little like a weather forecast – full of surprises! But it also depends on who’s doing the forecasting. In this episode, you’ll hear from the head of a team that’s won awards for its forecasting accuracy on the economy, housing, and mortgage market activity.   Doug Duncan is Senior Vice President and Chief Economist at Fannie Mae where he is responsible for economic analysis and forecasting. As the head of Fannie Mae’s Economic & Strategic Research (ESR) Group, the team earned the 2022 Lawrence R. Klein Award for Blue Chip Forecast Accuracy. It’s an award that covers a four-year period that includes the pandemic.
