Description

Health professionals, this should be our bread and butter, but sadly so many get it very wrong. We call this an iatrogenic condition, meaning "relating to illness caused by medical examination or treatment". Chronic low back pain, stemming from unhelpful advice and treatment from health professionals dealing with acute episodes of low back pain is sadly very prevalent in the community.I like to think our way of approaching back pain is helpful in preventing this and getting patients back to what they want to be doing. If you don't know of someone or have heard of someone that has experienced acute low back pain, I will eat my hat. You are also very likely to experience it yourself at some point! Which means this podcast is for you! This case study is by no means the answer on how to treat an individual with back pain but gives an insight into how we think people should be. Not focusing on the negative, encouraging patients and moving away from adjunct therapies like massage, needling and manipulations in the short term.Give us a 5 star review and remember to follow on instagram!https://www.instagram.com/thesportsmedicineproject/Upgrade your clinical skills and become a patreon:https://patreon.com/SportsMedicineProject?utm_medium=clipboard_copy&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=creatorshare_creator&utm_content=join_linkSign up for a free weekly Research review about topics related to Sports Medicine straight to your email: https://gmail.us14.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=c3dca95db0740390c605a128e&id=b41f1293caRead through our already written blogs:https://achievepodiatry.com.au
