Description

In this episode, Jared Powell discusses a research review which he has done for Physio Network, based on a systematic review of large to massive rotator cuff tears and how an exercise group compared to a surgical group. We dive deep into what the study involves, its limitations and it’s results. Finally, Jared gives us some advice on how to best make these decisions with patients and how to have those harder conversations with patients who are very surgery focused. Jared is an experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist from the Gold Coast, Australia. He has an interest in the shoulder joint and is currently studying for a PhD in this area. Jared teaches on the shoulder globally and has written several book chapters, peer reviewed articles and presented at various conferences.
