Description
In this episode we spoke to Dr. Sinéad Holden about the diagnosis, prognosis and management of knee pain in adolescents. She particularly covered Osgood-Schlatters disease or OSD and differential diagnosis from patellofemoral pain. We discussed the role of imaging in diagnosis of OSD and common findings of imaging with OSD as well as factors which may lead to pain later on in adulthood. Dr. Sinéad Holden is a Senior Researcher and Co-founder of the OptiYouth Group focused on ‘optimising physical health in youth’. Her research investigates adolescent MSK pain, and physical activity related injuries. She recently completed an Individual participant data (IPD) meta-analysis of prognostic factors for anterior knee pain in adolescents published in PAIN the journal.
