Ed Shanaphy is definitely a tennis renaissance man! He has his own club management and consulting firm and works with multiple clubs in the north east, he is the Director of Tennis at the Sippican Club in Marion Massachusetts, the Director of Operations for the Boulevard Club in Vero Beach, Florida, and podcast host of his show called Beyond the Baselines. He has served as the Head Pro at Orchid Island Golf and Beach Club,  Jupiter Island Club, and Edgartown Yacht Club, Quail Valley Golf Club and Ocean Trail Racquet Club. Ed actually started his career out in the marketing world in England for 17 years before pursuing a path in the tennis industry. He graduated from Duke University and he is originally from New York.

We talked about his career and we discussed different important topics such as should a pro be an independent contractor or a staff, the rise in search firms in our industry, should clubs be using search firms, and the qualities in candidates for director role searches.
