After VGK practiced Tuesday, Reilly Smith talked about the team wanting to get back on the ice to correct its mistakes from the series opening loss to Winnipeg. He said he expects his team to bounceback tonight in Game 2. One area Smith said the Golden Knights need to correct is forcing Winnipeg to the outside after they had a north-south push up the middle for most of the night. Bruce Cassidy, meanwhile was concerned about VGK being too stationary through the neutral zone. Cassidy said the team needs to have netfront presence in Game 2 to force Conor Hellebuyck into making mistakes. We felt the Golden Knights might have overlooked the Jets in the opening series loss on Tuesday. They will be focused and hopefully more intense tonight. VGK is 2-22 over the past eight games on the power play. Cassidy was not pleased with the unit coming out of the first series game.
