Our friend of the show, Dr. SarahRose Black, came into the studio again to continue the discussion of musical therapy from episode 17! SarahRose holds a Master of Arts in Music Education and a Master of Music Therapy. She recently completed her doctorate at the University of Toronto, where she conducted the first study on music therapy in the context of medical assistance in dying. Dr. SarahRose Black is also an accredited music therapist and registered psychotherapist specializing in palliative care and psychosocial oncology at both the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and Kensington Hospice here in Toronto. Not to mention she is also a great pianist, vocalist, and violinist! In this episode we chat about how we use music as therapy unintentionally, Dr. SarahRose explains some of the ways she incorporates music into her therapy and she also shares some updates since the last time we chatted.
