Description
Today we discuss the perceptual phenomenon known as synesthesia. Synesthesia is a neurological condition in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway (ie. hearing) leads to automatic, involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway (such as vision). Sometimes, this takes the form of hearing music and simultaneously sensing the sound as swirls or patterns of colour. In this episode, we chat with two musicians, Brigit O'Regan and Blake Hamilton, who are both synesthetes (A person who reports a lifelong history of synesthesia) to learn more about this fascinating subject. Enjoy!!
