AGAINStartup environments create swiss army knives for people Advice for people building their own supply chain teamsQuotes:PETER: Applying the KISS principle to everything"I think that applies to engineering as well as supply chain, really. Especially any kind of manufacturing or operations kind of environment or problem. People tend to sometimes get caught up in detail or in making things more complicated. If you can boil things down and keep it simple, that's usually the fastest and easiest way to get a good solution."PETER: What makes working with international partners challenging"A huge part of the supply chain is being able to collaborate with suppliers … bringing the teams together to a common goal and not getting into combative relationships or managing differences of opinions. And there's a lot of that working internationally on those commercial vehicle programs. A lot of complexity, a lot of cost-driven, and a lot of collaboration that had to be done."PETER: The most difficult part of working in procurement and the supply chain"The biggest challenge is trying to find the right partners. And I think this is where I really learned that at the end of the day, sourcing works best if there is a mutual strategic interest in the business, trying to find why the supplier wants this business."
