Join Dr. Jeffrey Gladden and Steve in this episode with Sten Stray-Gundersen. Sten is a leading Blood Flow Restriction expert. He has his Masters of Science from the University of Texas at Austin, where he conducted several studies centered around BFR as it relates to the cardiovascular system. He is now a Ph.D. Candidate at UT Austin, where he works with aging populations as his dissertation work focuses on the vascular responses to hypoxia in older adults. Sten is also a BFR Master Trainer and works at ROI Performance Center, where he prescribes BFR protocols and methodologies for clients of all ages and lifestyles. Sten has also applied BFR in his work with Olympians and elite military personnel. In this episode, they talk about what Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) is all about, how it affects circulation, and how to implement BFR for recovery from an injury and for cognitive and physical benefits and longevity.
