Description
Despite notable progress toward achieving gender equality, women are still underrepresented in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Although some positive changes have occurred in recent times, there is still a significant need to dispel the fallacy that the gender gap in STEM is a result of innate ability, rather than societal influences and situations.
In this episode of Women in Leadership, we spoke with Kerri Cahoy, Associate Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the Chair of MIT’s Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) Committee.
She shared her first-hand experience as a female researcher in STEM, a traditionally male-dominated field, and the factors that can contribute to empowering women in leadership in these fields.
