Welcome back to the Sutta Meditation Series Podcast.
Another session to accompany the second module in the Youth Dhamma Gradual Teachings series looking into Buddha's Gradual Instructions to Lay People on VIRTUE (sīlakathaṁ)
In this session, we do a guided meditation together - recollecting how we keep good virtue or maintain integrity through the five precepts. We reflect by keeping our virtue wholesome and upright we offer safety, non-ill will and non-harm to others. And we keep company with the Noble Ones who walk the Buddha's Path.
This meditation is particularly helpful
- when we feel low in mind energy
- when the conditions appear challenging
- when we feel we need protection and safety
- when we need to study or sit for exams
- when we want to improve our memory and retention
- when we need to face challenges at work, home and in the community
**It will help lift the mind, brighten it, make it happy and safe - so the mind can concentrate more easily, focus, and retain what's needed to be retained.**
We can apply this meditation as we go about our daily lives and in all postures (sitting, walking, standing, wakefully lying down)
