Description

Welcome back to the Sutta Meditation Series Podcast.
This is part of a 20-part session on How to meditate on the Vatthupama Sutta (MN7) - the Buddha's Discourse on the Simile of the Cloth. It was conducted on 29 December 2020 for families, adults, and children.
To read the whole Vatthupama Sutta: https://suttacentral.net/mn7/en/bodhi
This episode takes a deep dive into Covetousness and Unequal Greed (abhijjhāvisamalobho), one of the 16 mental stains from the Vatthupama Sutta. We learn about how to meditate to abandon this mental stain or defilement with a gentle guided meditation.
In the complete 20-part session we:
- study the words of the Buddha in the Vatthupama Sutta;
- discuss some of the benefits of learning this meditation;
- 'deep dive' into the 16 mental stains;
- meditate on each of the 16 mental stains (guidance provided) to directly experience the fruits of this teaching; and
- look into the Buddha's teachings on what to expect from bad actions
