The Miami Hurricanes await the decision of 5-star 2024 edge rusher TJ Capers. The Miami Columbus HS standout will announce his verbal commitment this Saturday, January 7th. He will be choosing between Miami, Louisville, USC, Colorado and Georgia. Despite Capers being a local player, the buzz at this moment favors Louisville. Host Alex Donno notes that since Capers is announcing nearly a year before he can officially sign, his recruitment will still be up for grabs until next December. The schools who miss out will not give up. 
Donno discusses Miami’s upcoming visit with Kentucky defensive tackle Justin Rogers. Rogers started every game for the Wildcats in 2022 and would be an excellent fit on the Canes. Miami has a major need at defensive tackle. The Hurricanes will also receive visits this weekend from Iowa cornerback Terry Roberts and Arkansas defensive tackle Isaiah Nichols. Donno believes Robers will commit to the Hurricanes. Miami has made an offer to Michigan transfer receiver Andrel Anthony Jr. Anthony has a lot of potential but was inconsistent at Michigan. 
Alex talks about Miami’s approach in the transfer portal and how Cristobal’s patience might pay off. Rather than going all in for several early transfers, Miami added four players quickly and seem to be waiting for the second wave. Donno has heard that Miami is aggressively pursuing UCF center Matt Lee, and believes Lee would be a great addition.
