Description

We discuss the positional battles for the Wisconsin Badgers football team going into the oncoming season and we also talk about potential basketball sleepers that might surprise some people.
We start by talking about the offensive side of the ball and the battle at right guard between likely Michael Furtney and Tanner Bortolini. John think its Tanner's job to lose and the we all agree - he's just too good to leave on the sidelines. We talk about the tight end position and specifically Clay Cundiff who we think is the best overall TE on the roster. We also talk about Jaylin Franklin and if the staff can find a role for him on the roster. Finally we discuss the WR spot and who the #2 WR besides Chimere Dike will be. Ryan thinks it might be Keontez Lewis while John thinks Markus Allen will be the guy at that role.
Next we discuss defensive positional battles with a focus on the CB, ILB and OLB positions. The OLB spot is really interesting with Herbig having one spot locked down but the other side is wide open between Darryl Peterson, TJ Bollers, CJ Goetz and Aaron Witt. We also discuss the new transfer CBs and who will likely be the #2 corner alongside Alexander Smith.
Finally on Locked On Badgers we discuss the basketball program and some players that might exceed expectations next year. John thinks it could be Carter Gilmore based on his ability to do the little things and hit some shots (hopefully). Ryan thinks Kamari McGee will outplay expectations with his ability to score and bring some quickness to the backcourt, while Justin threw out Isaac Lindsey as a guy who has the size and shooting ability the Badgers desperately need.
