I spent the afternoon with my parents today. My mom and I chatted about how it is not as normal as we think it is to be a volunteer, to want to give our time, energy and love to the people who need it the most. 
Then we talked about what mom was fasting on this Lent - Letting Go of her past (tough!) ... and how I could help in her process.
