Description
The HR we are referring to in this episode isn’t just the department HR. When we say HR in this episode, we’re talking about HR the function. The HR functions a business performs. If we’re trying to select an new hire, even if you’re a senior product manager doing it, then that’s an HR function. If we write a job description, that’s an HR function. If we give a shoutout to a colleague on Slack, that’s an HR function. If we provide a colleague solace in a difficult time, and that’s what keeps them from leaving, then that, if you think about it, is an HR function. If you think of it this way, you begin to see all of us perform HR functions in some way or another. And so, when we say that HR the function is being changed by software, which is the premise of the episode, what we’re in fact saying, is that the the work we all do, is in some way being changed by software. Our relationships with each other in the workplace are being changed by software. If you have episode ideas or interesting new changes in the workplace, or hacks people are using to navigate it, fill in the typeform here, and feature in an episode with us!
