Episode transcript available here.The Hip Hop Education Program at Hart House is heading into its second year and will be exploring the landscape of Canadian Hip Hop, both past and preset. Jessica Rayne and Zoe Dille from the Hart House Programming team are co-hosting the show this week as they discuss all things Hip Hop and social justice with Dr. Francesca D'Amico-Cutherbert. Dr. D'Amico-Cuthbert is currently doing a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Jackman Humanities Institute at U of T. Expanding on her previous research which focused on Hip-hop culture, identity and Anti-Black practices and systems of power, her current project will explore the history of the music industry and how it shaped the collective agency of people who are part of the Hip-hop community in Toronto.
