3 main types of feedback:
Appreciation - this is all about building relationships (saying thanks)
Coaching - this is about guiding, finding better ways to do things (see previous episode lets talk coaching)
Evaluation - this is where you stand, what you do well, what you need to improve.
Formative is throughout
Summative is at the end.
What makes great feedback?
Its specific, timely, meaningful and candid.
Receiving feedback:
You need to listen, this means not interrupting
Your responses need to be measured, if face to face be aware of your body language.
Be open to the feedback
Understand the message, if you don’t, ask.
Reflect on what has been said, and decide what to do.
Follow up. Have I made any improvement.
