Episode 800 for Locked on Guardians. Cleveland Guardians sweep the Chicago White Sox and knock their magic number down to five. It was another strong start for Shane Bieber, nearly every member of the offense reached base, and the defense and pen continued to perform at an elite level. We talk about standings, schedules, and how soon the Guardians could clinch the division. This team continues to be exceptionally fun to watch, follow, and root for.

We digress a bit to talk about some news around the league. We talk about the fall of Miguel Andujar. Why more than one season of data is important as well as how many bad trade offers were sent my way involving him over the years. We talk about Albert Pujols and why he might make sense for a multitude of teams next year between what he would mean for the gate as well as the fact that against lefties he has been almost Aaron Judge-like this year. 

Next up is a preview of the matchup against the Texas Rangers. The Guardians and Rangers had completely different offseasons and hype but here we are in September and it is the Guardians battling for the postseason and the Rangers potentially lining up another top-ten pick. While the Guardians are in first they also right now have the superior minors to go with a top-end bullpen, elite defense, elite base running, and three strong starters that have driven them to the cusp of the playoffs.
