The Cleveland Guardians played a complete game and beat the Minnesota Twins today by a score of 11-4. Their magic number shrunk to 12, and if they can sweep the Chicago White Sox, no matter how unlikely, it would be down to six. We get into the game, which saw just about every star for the Guardians. We also dig into why it is that Myles Straw is playing better and why I think it should be sustainable. 

Next is the focus on the Chicago White Sox series and why I think it favors the Guardians. We get into why the Oakland Athletics really did the Guardians dirty, and how if they had not cut Elvis Andrus the White Sox might already be out of the playoff picture. I think the Guardians should win two out of three, but only need one win to be in a good position for the rest of the season.

We end with some talk about schedules and why it is even if the Guardians get swept why they are still in a good position to win this division. We also talk about a player who is having quite the bounce-back year due to a change in launch angle. This particular player might be an ideal candidate to platoon with Josh Naylor due to their ability to destroy lefties, play a solid first base, and hit for power. They are also likely to fit the Guardians salary structure.
