The Cleveland Guardians have the day off, but that doesn’t mean the rumor mill ends or there are no moves going on. We dig into the Houston Astros promotion of Yanier Diaz and why one can not be made at the Guardians for trading away a player the Astros did not think enough of to roster last season. We talk about the three members of the draft 2022 class who are playing in the minors. Then we talk about promotions in the system including Will Dion, Angel Genoa, and Joe Lampe who are all moving on up and should be players to watch for the Guardians. 

We decide to weigh in on the debate of the day to extend Amed Rosario or not. We look at how he stands in terms of offensive and defensive metrics, the depth in the minors, and how he compares to his peers. The question is are you willing to pay north of 10 million a year for a player into their 30s? For a player who is in the 10-15 range at his position in terms of bat and overall value?

We end with mailbag questions from the fans. We talk more about Yainer. We talk about what pitchers might debut next year for the Guardians. Then we settle in to discuss what might happen if they decide to trade Shane Bieber. I start out unsure but in the end, the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets could use another starter or three and have the depth to trade pieces that can help now and in the future much like the Cleveland Guardians did when they traded Francisco Lindor to the New York Mets.
