Description
So much of society’s opinion of singlehood (and our own thoughts on singlehood) comes from the messages we receive about it. Dr. Jessica Moorman is an Assistant Professor of Communication at Wayne State University studying media and the messages communicated to singles, specifically single Black women. Our discussion covers a range of messages single women receive, and the effects they can have on the single community, as well as personal strategies to employ once we’re aware of the messages we’re taking in about our single status. Dr. Moorman’s research and insight are both fascinating, both new and longtime listeners of this podcast will enjoy what she has to share very much.
