Description

Hola mi gente, I hope you are doing well this week! Mi gente, talk about putting in the work alongside your manifestations... I had the absolute honor to interview the one and only Dr. Maricela Becerra García aka @academicmami . For those of you who may not know (which I am more than happy to introduce you to her if you don't) @academicmami is one of the OG Latina Academic's on social media such as Instagram, Twitter and more. I personally still remember the exact moment I came across Mari's Instagram she was graduating with her PhD and seeing her pictures as a young first-gen Latina student... it was exactly what I needed to re-light my spark of inspiration after fighting my deep depression for so long.
She is truly an inspiration and has showcased through her representation as an Amiga, Femtor, Mami, Wife, Eldest Daughter, Doctora, Researcher First-Gen & Immigrant Student etc. que si se puede. I am excited for all of you tune into this interview episode, I promise you it is filled with so much value.

¡Hola mi gente! Cafecito con Estrellita® , is a Latinx podcast that guides first-generation scholars through the path of education. Let's face it, being the first in your family to do anything can feel nerve wrecking, especially coming from a Latinx household. CCE’s mission it to be a resource for all of mi gente, and break down all the social and academic stigmas/cycles that try to limit what we can accomplish.
