Description
Welcome to another episode of the Lovecars On The Grid podcast! Tiff Needell and Paul Woodman bring us another roundup of the motorsport events from the past week.
Paul joins us from an airport lounge yet again, but there's lots to discuss this week. From Formula 1, F2, NASCAR and more! We kick off with Formula 1, which took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia this time. Following a missile attack on a fuel depot less than 10 miles from the track, should F1 continue to take place in Jeddah?
Mick Schumacher started off with a crash in qualifying, which led to him sitting out of the race on Sunday. Sergio Perez put his Red Bull in pole position, ahead of Max Verstappen in 4th, with the two Ferraris of Charles LeClerc and Carlos Sainz between them.
Yet again, Nicholas Latifi saved Max Verstappen, crashing and causing a safety car in the closing laps of the race. Assisting the Red Bull in closing the gap between him and leader Charles LeClerc. The Ferrari had some clever tactics with the DRS zones, but Verstappen still managed to overtake LeClerc and took the win in Saudi Arabia. Lewis Hamilton finished in 10th place, following some interesting strategy decisions!
There was no F3 this week, but in F2, the feature race was won by Felipe Drugovich and Liam Lawson won the sprint race.
The NASCAR drivers were at the Circuit of Americas. With no track limits, there was a very exciting finish with a fight between Alex Bowman and Ross Chastain in the two Chevrolets. In the final lap, Chastain managed to put another driver into his rival, winning his first ever NASCAR race.
Next week, we have more NASCAR and Moto GP as Paul and Tiff return from Italy!
