Description

On today's episode, a clearly despondent Jason opens things up by sharing his thoughts on the New York Jets upset victory over the Los Angeles Rams... and dropping them out of the #1 slot in the upcoming Trevor Lawrence Sweepstakes. Lawrence is arguably the best quarterback prospect to enter the NFL Draft in decades, and all the Jets had to do to get him was keep losing. They couldn't even do that right. This could end up being a blessing in disguise for Jets fans since it should allow them to trade down from the #2 slot and build out the rest of their roster, but the loss of Lawrence still stings. The Kansas City Chiefs beat the New Orleans Saints in what some were calling a Super Bowl preview, but after the Jets win the game just didn't seem to have the same type of buzz. In fact, we've almost become desensitized by Kansas City's greatness. In many ways, the Chiefs are like the Steph Curry/Kevin Durant Golden State Warriors of the NFL: it's only a story when they lose. The third biggest story to come down on Sunday actually took place before any of the games had even started. Carson Wentz isn't happy at all to be glued to the bench in Philadelphia, but with the way Jalen Hurts has played the last two games he may not have a choice. He hasn't played like a top quarterback in a few years and his contract is borderline untradeable. It's too early to say that Hurts is The Guy in Philadelphia, but it seems pretty clear at this point that it's definitely not Wentz. Later, Jason tells us why he wasn't shocked at all to see Notre Dame selected for the College Football Playoff even after they got blasted by Clemson in the ACC Championship Game. College football is big business - and the Fighting Irish are good for business. The sooner sports fans accept this fact the better off we'll all be. Finally, Jason looks to keep the hot streak going with the Monday Night Football edition of The Best Bet.
