Description

On today's episode, Jason opens things up with a very simple question: Are the New Orleans Saints the team we thought they were? The Saints had been the hottest team in the League until rookie quarterback Jalen Hurts lit them up in his first career start. Chalk it up to a lack of familiarity with the opponent - or just a rare bad game from their defense - but either way the loss knocked them out of the top seed in the NFC. Which brings us to the Green Bay Packers. With their win on Sunday, the road to the Super Bowl in the NFC suddenly go through Lambeau Field. It's fitting that in a year where three other teams had been pegged as the team to beat in the conference (Saints, Seattle Seahawks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and two other quarterbacks were tabbed as MVP front-runners (Patrick Mahomes, Russell Wilson) that Aaron Rodgers and the Packers now have the inside track in both races. Producer Rob joins the show to share his thoughts on the Las Vegas Raiders' decision to finally cut ties with their defensive coordinator, and Jason tells us why he has a big problem with Ben Roethlisberger blaming the Pittsburgh Steelers struggling offense on the lack of a running game. Big Ben was the reason the Steelers lost on Sunday Night to the Buffalo Bills and his physical limitations is one reason why they can't be more creative offensively. Later, Jason and Rob tell us why Florida Gators head coach Dan Mullen has a point when he says that his team would likely still be in the mix for the College Football Playoff if they hadn't played so many games this season. Mullen is probably the last guy you want making this kind of statement but he's got it right on this one. Finally, Jason closes things out with the Monday Night Football edition of the Best Bet.
