Hi Band in Minnesota Listeners! This is Jerry Luckhardt, I’m a band director at the University of Minnesota…and I’m Brad Mariska band director at Farmington High School in Farmington. Minnesota.
So, here is the big announcement! We along with colleagues and friends from around Minnesota are creating a podcast that will address many of the hottest topics on the minds of Minnesota Band directors.
The idea of creating a podcast for “Band in Minnesota” came as I listened to some of my favorite podcasts and enjoyed Jerry Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. I thought, let's blend these two formats and share stories from around Minnesota.” We have so many great people in our profession doing amazing work. We need to capture these success stories as well as bring ideas and solutions to challenges.
I also knew I wanted a co-host and you Bradley immediately came to mind. Your passion for music and students is so infectious. You also have amazing technology chops and most importantly, I just like being around you.
Our hopes and dreams are that these podcasts will serve as a way for us to connect and inspire our listeners to learn more about the many exciting things happening in band rooms around Minnesota. Topics ranging from beginning band to adults making music and everything in between will be unpacked and explored.
