Description
The waves of the Arab Spring are still being felt in almost every industry throughout the Middle East. Egypt is no exception - visitors to the country in 2011 dropped almost 37 percent from 2010. Mariam Jarrar, market research consultant at Euromonitor, states that despite all its negative effects, the revolution in Egypt helped many travel agencies stay in business, especially those focused on outbound tourism. Jarrar states that to draw visitors back to the country, landmarks from the revolution can be positioned as tourist destinations for the post Arab Spring era.
