Description

What drew us to Tafv Sampson, our guest for today, is a 15-minute short film that takes us through 4 generations of her family, in a way that moved us so much that we just knew we wanted to know more about her, her life, and her family’s history.
Besides the fact that her mother is a journalist who interviewed serial killer John Wayne Gacy, and besides the fact that her grandfather was Native American actor, activist, and artist Will Sampson--of one flew over the Cuckoos nest-- and besides the fact that her father Tim Sampson was a stunt man, broadway Actor, Native American activist, and artist, Tafv herself is a photographer, an author, an artist, and soon will be adding entrepreneur to her list of credentials--you can see now why we had to know more about her!
Tafv takes us on a journey from growing up on the west coast, following her passion for film to New York City, the great loss of her father, and pivoting into her passion for botanical body care.
She speaks candidly about how the wellness industry is largely created for and by people that don’t look like her, and what it means to her to build a truly sustainable brand.
In this time of the Cultural Revolution, we wanted to take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate the Native People of our land who are oftentimes overlooked, forgotten in history, and widely oppressed. Also, Tafv is such a badass, we had to share her story!
