Description

Stephanie Deusing is the author of Eyeless Mind: A Memoir About Seeing and Being Seen. She discovered, documented, and diagnosed the first known case of neuroplastic verbal visual processing in her genius artist son, Sebastian. Stephanie is a self-taught expert in the science of visual neuroplasticity, and also homemade marshmallows. By necessity, she is bringing awareness to the public health crisis surrounding the diagnosis, education, and habilitation of people with neurological visual impairments. Stephanie notes, “We know that music and movement in early childhood have tremendous neurological benefits. Music and movement are the only things, when combined together, that force both sides of the brain to work together through the corpus callosum.” In this episode, The Brain Possible Founder & CEO, Emily Abbott and Stephanie discuss the power of Music Therapy, along with art, and the incredible impact that it had on her son and his well being.
