Description
The Miami Hurricanes find themselves ahead of the curve national in terms of Name, Image and Likeness (NIL). Local billionaire John Ruiz, through his new LifeWallet product, is providing enticing sponsorship opportunities to the best and brightest high school recruits and transfers. Sports attorney Dan Lust joins the show to answer all of host Alex Donno's pressing questions about 1) Whether Ruiz and Miami are doing anything illegal, 2) How the rest of the nation may catch up in this arms race and 3) What, if anything, the NCAA can do to step in and regulate this process.
Miami adds another gifted defensive player in the transfer portal. Defensive tackle Darrell Jackson picks Miami over Florida, Florida State and Tennessee as a transfer from the Maryland Terrapins. Jackson has unique size, strength and athleticism with a 6-5 303 lb frame with an 86 inch wingspan. Miami can develop this player into an impact defensive tackle. He played one season at Maryland as a true freshman, recording 22 total tackles in the 2021 season.
Miami's defense has received a big injection of experience in the portal, with Jackson joining other transfers like Akheem Mesidor and Darryl Porter Jr from WVU, Caleb Johnson and Mitchell Agude from UCLA and Jake Lichtenstein from USC.
