The Miami Hurricanes have added yet another starting caliber defensive player to the football team through the transfer portal! Caleb Johnson, a former UCLA linebacker, has arrived at The U. He joins his former teammate Mitchell Agude, who arrived in Miami from UCLA earlier this year. The Johnson addition comes less than a week after Miami added DL Akheem Mesidor from West Virginia. Mario Cristobal and his staff have successfully overhauled their defense with experienced players from prominent programs. The linebacker unit especially needed this. Linebacker was arguably Miami's weakest unit before Johnson showed up.
Meanwhile, unfortunate news came out over the weekend that Hurricanes true freshman linebacker Wesley Bissainthe was a passenger in a serious car crash. The extent of his injuries are unknown but not expected to be career threatening. We'll find out later on how much if any time he will miss in 2022.
Miami also pulled out a huge transfer portal addition for the basketball team with guard Nijel Pack coming over from Kansas State. Pack is making major headlines based on the NIL deal he is receiving from Life Wallet. He's reportedly receiving $800,000 over two years plus a car. This has caused journalists and rival fans to become incredibly salty about Miami's NIL success with Life Wallet and the Ruiz family.
