Behind the arm of Austin Gomber and the bat of Dylan Carlson the St. Louis beat the Kansas City Royals 5-0. Gomber went six shutout innings and Carlson went 3-4, just a home run away from the cycle. If Carlson gets going, watch out because that could be a big boost to the Cardinal offense. St. Louis is now the 5th seed in the NL, slated to play the San Diego Padres if the postseason started today. While there's a lot of baseball to be played, the Cardinals control their own destiny going down the stretch. Carlos Martinez gets the ball for the Redbirds as they go for a series win.
