The Rockies are who they thought they were. And the San Francisco Giants are much like they were last year. They're a deep and talented team. They have good starting pitching and will beat you with patience and power.
Alex Cobb pitched very well today, following up Alex Wood's strong performance the night before. The SF Giants have a five-game winning streak heading into an off day and a road trip. They dominated the Rockies in this series, with contributions up and down the lineup.
Yesterday, it was the bottom of the lineup that got things going. Between Luis González, Austin Slater, and Curt Casali, the eight and nine spots in the Giants' lineup didn't make an out. Today, Joey Bart contributed with a big single on an 0-2 pitch. LaMonte Wade Jr. had three hits. Brandon Crawford homered. The bullpen continued to be rock solid.
The Giants are indeed playing good baseball, and they improved to 19-12 with a +40 run differential. They're in a good spot as they head out on the road to once against face the Cardinals and the Rockies.
