Description
Tommy La Stella powered the San Francisco Giants to a series win on Tuesday night, but the Rockies avoided the sweep on Wednesday. La Stella showed fans what he's capable of in the breakout performance, with a home run, two doubles, and a walk. People tend to sleep on his power, but he showed it off with a tape-measure home run as the very first hitter of the game.
Several other Giants pitched in on offense, as they scored 10 runs and beat the Rockies 10-7. Mike Yastrzemski, Brandon Crawford, and Darin Ruf also had big games. In Wednesday's loss, Logan Webb pitched great but the offense could not add on. Joey Bart came up in a couple of big spots with men on base and could not produce. His struggles, particularly with strikeouts, have looked worse in contrast to Curt Casali's recent strong performance. At some point, the SF Giants may have to consider making a move now that Michael Papierski is in the fold.
