Age should not be perceived as a limiting factor in the advancement sector. That's what the LSU foundation's VP of development Krista Raney believes, and she's made incredible strides early in her career. Krista's experience shows that by combining a great attitude, a strong work ethic, professional mentorship, and a commitment to delivering results, rapid progression might just be possible within your current institution.About KristaKrista Allen Raney is the Vice President of Development for the LSU Foundation. Raney has served LSU for 10 years and currently drives the comprehensive academic fundraising strategy for the University. Raney also provides system-wide leadership for the Fierce for the Future campaign, the first of its kind at LSU. Krista’s daily efforts focus on the development of a robust, talented, results oriented team, executing at a high-level for the benefit of students and faculty. She also works in concert with LSU’s most supportive donors and friends. During her time at LSU, she spearheaded the restructure of the development enterprise to effectively drive resources to refocused fundraising priorities, leveraging synergies across the campus. Raney has had the pleasure to serve several senior colleges at LSU over the course of her career and was tapped to build the first cohort fundraising model, working in partnership with three deans to build a strong, cross-functional fundraising team. Raney has presented several times for the Council in Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), with most recent emphasis on how to build robust, effective partnerships between academic leaders and lead fundraisers. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and is active in the Baton Rouge community. Raney has served on the board of the Baton Rouge Affiliate of Susan G. Komen and chaired the signature fundraising event, Race for the Cure, in both 2012 and 2013. Krista now serves on the boards of the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center as well as the South Louisiana Affiliate of Teach for America. She was honored as one of the top Forty Under 40 in Baton Rouge in 2017.
