Description

Welcome back to the Rock 'n Roll Ghost Podcast. On this week's episode, the Ghost speaks with filmmaker Simon Barrett (writer of You're Next, Blair Witch and The Guest) about his feature directorial debut, Seance, which is in theaters, on demand and digital platforms beginning today, May 21.
From RLJE Films / Shudder, Seance follows Camille Meadows (Suki Waterhouse), a new student at Edelvine Academy for Girls as she gets entangled in a group of other students seeking to perform a seance to bring out the spirit of a dead former student. Camille works to figure out why unexplainable horrors keep happening to her and others around her.
Besides Waterhouse, the film boasts a cast of talented young actors, including Madisen Beaty, Ella-Rae Smith, Inanna Sarkis, Seamus Patterson and Marina Stephenson-Kerr.
Barrett discusses the making of Seance, including the tight schedule and necessary scrappiness he and his crew had to employ on a limited budget, as well as working with the cast to get the best out of them. He briefly touches on his next two writing projects, Face Off 2 and Thundercats, both of which he's reuniting with his You're Next and The Guest collaborator, director Adam Wingard (the recent box office hit Godzilla Vs. Kong).
